Choose a node by use case
A city’s proximity to the target service does not guarantee that it suits the current network. A safer approach is to identify the use case and destination first, then compare dedicated, relay and direct routes within the same region.
Everyday browsing
Start nearby and keep a backup
For reading webpages, researching and handling email, prioritize a relatively nearby region that matches your destination. For commonly used Asia-Pacific services, start with Tokyo, Singapore, Seoul or Hong Kong; for sites in Europe or North America, switch to the corresponding region. Avoid changing exits every time you open a page. Keeping the region stable during a session helps websites maintain a consistent session assessment.
If the current route opens pages normally, there is no need to keep switching just because its label is different. If images stall or connections retry, first switch from direct to relay within the same region; if that still does not work, try a nearby city or dedicated route.
Streaming
The content-library region matters more than the city name
Streaming services typically determine visible content using the exit region, account details, content rights and device environment. First identify the content library you want to access, then choose a route marked as supported in that region. Avoid switching countries during playback, as the login session, subtitle selection and playback position may need to reload.
If the service opens but the library is different from expected, first check whether the account region matches the node country instead of cycling through multiple exits. If playback buffers, compare IEPL dedicated and relay routes in the same region; direct routes are better used to supplement coverage for a specific region. Streaming rules are controlled by each service, and route support does not mean every account will see identical content.
AI Tools
Keep one region to minimize environment changes
Services such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini may assess the access environment based on exit region, account status and session continuity. Confirm the tool’s supported regions first, then keep a suitable exit fixed. Frequent switching between Asia-Pacific, North America and Europe changes the account environment too much and may trigger verification for an existing session.
For long conversations, file processing or ongoing work, consider a dedicated or relay route in the same region. If a tool opens but a feature is unavailable, first check the service’s own regional rules and account status before changing routes. A route addresses network connectivity; it cannot replace the target service’s account eligibility or usage policies.
Gaming
Match the server region first, then minimize switching
Choose a gaming route based on the game server’s region rather than the route name alone. For Asian servers, start with nearby regions; for North American or European servers, choose the corresponding regional entry. Keep the same exit during login, matchmaking and play to avoid changing regions mid-session. Downloads and live play can use different strategies: downloads prioritize transfer continuity, while play prioritizes path stability.
The same route may perform differently on different local networks. If the connection is unstable, first compare dedicated and relay routes in the same city, then try a nearby city. Avoid rapidly switching through many nodes; after each switch, reconnect and confirm that the game server region has not changed automatically.
Work
Keep a regular exit aligned with your business region
Remote work may involve corporate email, document platforms, code hosting, meeting tools and internal systems at the same time. Choose a regular node and a same-region backup based on where your team or business systems are located. Keep the exit stable after work begins, especially when signing in to admin consoles, joining video meetings, uploading files or handling tasks that require a continuous session. If your company has its own access policy, follow organizational requirements first, then choose the corresponding regional route.
Use an IEPL dedicated route for important tasks; use a relay for general research and collaboration; and use direct routes to supplement access to niche services in specific countries. Clients and subscriptions for Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and Linux are available from the user panel, with unlimited devices online at the same time. When using multiple devices, keep the device handling critical work on a fixed route and avoid having other devices frequently occupy the same account’s regional session environment.
